Liebster Award

My friend Megan nominated me for the Liebster Award. I think in German that means loved one, or favorite. My guess is favorite, but knowing Megan it could be a live lobster with an accent.

I love awards. They make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Normally, I just want my award and not to have to make a speech or anything. And answer questions? Forget about it. I’m kind of lazy that way. But this is Megan, and she has rules:

1. You must tell 11 things about yourself.

2. Answer the questions your nominator gives you.

3. Create 11 questions for the bloggers you nominate.

4. Choose new blogs with fewer than 200 followers and link them to your post.

5. If you’re nominated, please leave a comment on this post with the URL of your Liebster Award post.

Well, okay then. Here goes:

What is your favorite sport? Working out at Curves.

What did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher.

Modern or antique? Are we talking about me or my furniture? Ah well, the answer is the same: antique.

Do you have a favorite band or music genre? I adore country western music: Keith Urban’s modern style; Mumford & Sons; Thompson Square, the list is extensive.

What do you want to be doing ten years from now? Writing stories that appeal to readers.

If you could choose, during what era would you live? Current. I like my modern conveniences. ; )

D.I.Y or contractor? A mix of the two, because I usually screw up the first.

What is your favorite vacation spot?  Italy.

Can you roll your tongue? You mean like thith? Yeth.

Have you ever dyed your hair, and if so what was your favorite color? Cinnamon.

Do you believe in fate? Absolutely.

I’m nominating Nan Reinhardt, JL Hammer, and Christine Elaine Black.

Ladies, here are your questions:

Do you have siblings?

Have you ever lived in a country other than the US?

What is your favorite movie of all time?

Do you read literary fiction?

Do you like brocolli?

Steak or chicken?

Do you wear mismatched undies?

When you were young did you have more guy friends, or girl friends?

Do you consider your husband or significant other to be your soul mate?

I’m rushing off and don’t have time to answer these questions. But I love your answers. And I really enjoyed spending time with you this weekend.

  2. robena grant says:

Me too, Janie. We never have enough time to socialize at our chapter meetings. Lovely to chat while relaxed. : )

  3. Sam Beck says:

I have to make that harsh Jeopardy missed question buzzer sound and put an X over your response to question 3. You are NOT an antique!

Congratulations on your award though! Your blog is always a ray of sunshine…even on a dreary Mon. morning.

  4. robena grant says:

Now all I can hear is the buzz and “your wrong” from Family Feud. ha ha. Sweet of you to say so, Sam.

Is it dreary in the Boo? We’ve got 90+ temps and I’m not ready for the heat.

  5. Hi Robena, Thanks for inviting me to play the game. Drop by my blog for a visit and see who I’ve nominated for a Liebster Award.

  6. Thank you, Robena! I’m happy the heat trapped you indoors long enough to make you answer my questions-it’s great getting to know even more about you!

I’m becoming a country-western fan myself. We actually have a New York country music radio station now, so I can listen in the car. I Shazam all the songs so I can learn who the artists are–and I have to say, five of my most recent tags have been Keith Urban! You Aussies are appealing 🙂

Thanks for coming by, Megan. and for nominating me. : ) I love that you’re starting to like C&W. I think of it as the romance novel in music. ; ) Do you like The Zac Brown Band? I’d forgotten to mention them and they are also on my fave list. sorry, TZBB.

  8. Julie says:

Great post! And very funny, too. 😉

But the No. 7 question to your nominated pals needs a sub-category, not everyone wears undies, so they can’t be mismatched if they aren’t there at all.

  9. robena grant says:

Ah, good catch Julie. : ) Now what does that tell me about you? Hmmmm.
