Got it! Want it! Want it All!

Good morning, and Happy New Year!   ny 003

Too LOUD for you? Too much champagne last night? Pour another coffee and come along on a journey with me. I’d love for you to tell me what you think of when you think about Australia. What is the first picture that pops into your mind? Before I moved to the US, I always pictured San Francisco, in particular The Golden Gate Bridge, Hollywood, and The Grand Canyon, whereas now, the place that says America to me is New York City.

Today I’m doing two separate giveaways. A gift of one download of my newest book, Gone Tropical, for Kindle Readers:

He was hired to protect her, but can she save him from his past?

Armed with an inside tip, Amy Helm arrives in Australia determined to catch her thieving ex-husband. After he absconded with five million dollars from her father’s business, the FBI thinks the trail has gone cold. But who better to catch him than the psychologist who knew him intimately?

LAPD-turned-solitary-P.I. Jake Turner is on Amy’s tail. Hired by her estranged father to find the money and keep her out of harm, he enlists the help of an old Aussie friend. Amy knows their skills are valuable, but her hackles go up when Jake orders her to stay in Sydney.

Playing a dangerous game of catch-me-if-you-can deep in the Australian rainforest leads them into a cyclone, a fake marriage, a drug cartel, and maybe, a whole new life. It’s a dizzying ride of fear and romance, and one Amy won’t soon give up.

**If you don’t have a Kindle reader, I have Mobi, eBook, or PDF formats.

The second giveaway is for two cute items from Australia, and no they are not real live Joeys:

A boxing kangaroo pen, you can work the boxing arms with one click, remove the cap to write and it will light up. Sure to box away negative thoughts, fight off a snoozing muse, or entertain a youngster. (See, I should have been a used car salesperson.)

And, a fuzzy bookmark where the head of a koala protrudes above the book page, making for a cheeky little devil…ah, I mean cute koala.

What kid WOULDN’T want a boxing kangaroo pen?!

  2. Gina B says:

    Hi Robena!

Aaah, Australia. It’s #1 on my “want to visit most” list if I could go anywhere in the world. The first picture that pops in my mind is of the Outback and a kangaroo hopping across a sweeping, dry landscape, like in The Thorn Birds (although I believe it was actually shot in Simi Valley, CA – lol).

Since I already have a copy of your wonderful new book, I would love to try for the pen/bookmark. They’re so adorable 😀

  3. Hey, Robena! Happy New Year to you and yours. Yes, it is quiet on the networks, but we won’t let that bother us. I’m looking forward to reading Gone Tropical. Sizzle and crime in a hot climate…that should warm up any reader! Keep up the good promo work! Rolynn

  4. JL Hammer says:

Gone Tropical sounds so exciting. The rainforest is a perfect setting for a steamy romance and danger. I’ve never been to Australia but close (New Zealand). My husband spent 2 weeks in Australia and loved it.

Thanks for coming by, J.L. I’ve only been to one island of NZ, and that was years ago, but I keep promising myself another trip. : )
      Happy New Year!

  5. Janie Emaus says:

I thought of you yesterday morning when I saw New Year arrive in Australia. I’ve always wanted to go there.

  6. Dee J. says:

Ah… Austrailia… it’s on my wishlist. I always associate kangaroos, naturally. Love the boxing kangaroo, but that koala is too adorable for words. The books sounds great! Congrats!

  7. robena grant says:

Thanks for coming by, Dee J. Kangaroos, yes! For me, I always think of Sydney: the Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and of course the Hunter Valley vineyards. ; )

  8. Barb Han says:

What darling giveaways! So original, just like you! Congrats on your new release!!

  9. Adorable giveaways!!!! I always think of the joeys, Robena. Yep, joeys and then hot guys with Australian accents. Oh..who am I kidding? I think of the hot guys first!!!! Congrats on your new release! Gone Tropical is next on my TBR list. It sounds wonderful. I can’t wait.

  10. Julie says:

First thing that always pops into my mind is the art and beauty of the Aboriginal People. Their creation myths were told to me by my (very Catholic) grandmother when I was really young. The stories made perfect sense, so I’ve never forgotten them.

I want to read all of your books, in book form. I’ll wait……………..

And that fluffy koala peeking out from between the pages is TOO damn cute!

  11. robena grant says:

Hi, Julie. I have a book on the Australian Dreamtime. It’s fascinating reading, and it’s great that your grandmother connected with that and then relayed those ancient stories to you.
Thanks for reading my books. I’ll run a couple of giveaways when I get the print versions. ; )

  12. Nan says:

I’ve already bought your book, Roben, so I’m thinking koala bookmark or boxing kangaroo pen would be a treat! What a fun giveaway!! Congratulations on all your success with Gone Tropical!
