Today, Gone Tropical is beginning a five day stretch of free downloads from Amazon, February 18-22.
I’m celebrating by heading down the red dirt road, singing along to Australian country artist Lee Kernaghan, and remembering the fabulous trip I took to the Daintree Rainforest with some of my family. That was the setting, for most of the book.
If you want to join me, go download this book: http://amzn.com/B00HJE3UAC
For those of you not familiar with Australia, other than perhaps Sydney, the Daintree is in Far North Queensland. I love the expression, Far North. It’s a great term, right up there with “out the back of beyond” or the outback, or “out bush.”
Far North is a beautiful region. Gorgeous beaches from Cairns to Cooktown, slightly inland the rainforest, out to sea the islands of the Great Barrier Reef. So what’s not to like? Well, there are cyclones. There are flooding rains. There are snakes and spiders and all kinds of wild life. There are stingrays, and probably a shark or two. For some parts of the drive you’ll need a four-wheel drive to get around, because roads are not sealed. But it’s an adventure!
And it’s an adventure that Amy Helm, the heroine of Gone Tropical is not about to give up. I have my suspicions one of those reasons is the super sexy, but solitary P.I., Jake Turner. He has to protect her, while trying to track Amy’s elusive embezzler ex-husband. But, no spoilers here just hop on over and get the book. Did I mention it’s free?
If you have a Kindle reader, an app to Amazon on your ipad or iphone, you can get this download. Here is the link one more time: http://amzn.com/B00HJE3UAC
The book is also now available in print, and will go to world wide release for all other formats on April 11, 2014. If you do get this story, read it, and like it—that’s a lot of ifs— I’d love to hear from you. Oh, and one more super if, if you could find time to review the book on Amazon, Goodreads, or B&N, I’d love, love, love that.
In honor of free days, I’m giving away one print copy of Gone Tropical along with a furry kangaroo book mark. Just leave a comment, or a wave, to enter. The winner will be chosen, by drawing a name out of Sarge’s digger hat, on Saturday, 22nd of February.
The winner is Catherine! I will email you for an address. Congratulations!
