Ready for Galleys

It seems the month of September has been spent in doing edits.

Round one edits were tough, but I was happy with the extended time they got, and the trimming the manuscript needed to provide a better pace. Then soon after, along came the second round. They were simple. A couple of areas to smooth out, a missed comma, that sort of thing. Now I’m waiting for the pre-Galleys. That will most likely take a couple of weeks, so, time to catch my breath. Then one more pass to check that I’ve missed nothing, and the book will be given a release date. Whew!

In the meantime, I’ve been keeping up with promo and marketing for books one and two in the series. Book one, One Safe Place, is up for a RONE award.

While I don’t expect to win, it’s fun to be nominated. Now I need to buy an evening gown, or at the least a cocktail dress, because the ladies love to celebrate these awards. Nothing I have in the closet fits right, or looks good. I guess my figure has changed some since my last awards night in 2013. Ha ha. Getting old is not easy. Oh well, I’ll purge my closet and give away those dresses. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate shopping? I used to love it. *grumble, grumble*
